Michael Vick
Pitbull Dog Breeding
Dog fighting investigation
Vick's property in Virginia is currently under police investigation for operating an illegal dog fighting ring in Surry County,
Virginia, where his nephew currently resides. His nephew was under investigation for narcotics trading. Police discovered
over 60 pitbulls, in varying degrees of health, suffering from malnutrition, injuiries, and neglect, on the property, as well as
much dog fighting related paraphernalia.

The police have gone on the record as saying that Vick did not spend much time on this property, and was probably not
fully aware of the activity going on. However, neighbors have reported seeing Vick in town many times and clerks at a
nearby store have reported Vick buying supplies for dogs.

Vick blamed family members for taking advantage of his generosity after a police raid found evidence of dog fighting at
property he owns in Virginia. Appearing at a news conference to announce his participation in the NFL Quarterback
Challenge, Vick described himself as an unwitting victim of relatives living on his property in Smithfield, VA.

According to a WVEC news report, a company owned by Vick operates a dog breeding website.
